Democrats hope to launch a bipartisan congressional investigation, but House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell both oppose it. On Thursday the House of Representatives passed by a single vote an emergency spending package of $1.9 billion for increased security for the Capitol complex – a move some argue is necessary to stop further attacks. Meanwhile, woke companies that weighed in on Georgia’s voting laws are getting pushback in the form at political attack ads aimed at their corporate practices.
